Mike Weinstein

Interim Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Mike Weinstein serves as the interim Chief Financial Officer and leads the city’s finance department as well as strategic initiatives.

Prior to this role, was most recently the CEO for Volunteers in Medicine Jacksonville, and he served District 19 in the Florida House of Representatives from 2008-2012. Mr. Weinstein also previously served as Jacksonville’s Chief Financial Officer in both the Mayor Austin and Mayor Delaney administrations.  With more than 30 years of financial and management experience, Mr. Weinstein has devoted much of his leadership and expertise to the public sector. 

Mr. Weinstein was also a prosecutor and the executive director for the State Attorney's Office in Jacksonville.  He spent 19 years in law management as the executive director of the State Attorney's Office, and six years as a college lecturer, where he published several articles on management. He was also a partner at Harris, Guidi, Rosner & Mordecai, P.A., where he specialized in government and environmental issues.
 
Mr. Weinstein earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Hartwick College in New York, a Masters of Science in criminal justice from California State University and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida. He has also completed two years of Doctoral Studies at Florida State University.
